Portugal with Ursula
Sat, Oct 11th, 2008

I asked Ursula for a write-up and got one. Here it is.

Set off from apartment at 8.00 am, the sky was blue and sun about to burst through, continued my usual route behind the golf course spotting some lovely birds along the way, Common Waxbill, Serins, Hoopoes, Goldfinches. By the time I got to the right turn to the beach about 2 miles, the sun was bright in the sky. Walked the return leg along the beach of the Ria Formosa, lots of wading birds now returned from the north, Grey Plover, Kentish Plovers, Ringed Plovers, Whimbrels, Curlews, Turnstones, Green Shank and Red Shank as well as the usual Terns and Gulls. Stopped for breakfast on the beach then back through the narrow lanes to the village for a relaxing rest on the balcony.

It's a hard life!! Well it's back to reality now, got home last night but fortunately I managed to smuggle some sun back with us and it's not a bad day at all today.
